In recent years, the Polish labour market has seen dynamic changes. Due to the demographic situation and declining supply of a qualified workforce, the growth of many industries is based on employees from the East (about 1.5 million). The government’s declaration of a considerable hike of the minimum wage, expected rise of energy costs and opening of neighbouring labour markets to employees from Ukraine is likely to cause their significant outflow (estimated at 50 pct), which is a risk to the development of many domestic enterprises.
